The house method

The Glenforest Way.

Five stages, in the same order, for everything that crosses the counter. No two garments are treated alike.

  1. Received and tagged

Signed in by name at the counter and tagged before it leaves your sight.

  2. Inspected by hand

Read under the lamp first: seams, buttons, and stains, each noted by hand.

  3. Cleaned in water, never solvent

Pure water matched to the fibre and measured to the degree. Nothing toxic, ever.

  4. Finished by hand

Pressed at the table, one piece at a time, for as long as the press takes.

  5. Returned on your route day

Bagged under your name and brought back on your Tuesday or Friday round.

A private round

Leave the bag out Tuesday or Friday. We handle the rest.

Two routes. One standard.

  1. Hang your bag

We set you up with a personalized Glenforest garment bag. On your route day, leave it at your door in the morning.

  2. We collect and clean

Your garments travel to Yonge and Lawrence, where each piece is cleaned toxic-free and finished by hand.

  3. Returned, pressed

On your next Tuesday or Friday, everything comes home pressed, bagged, and ready to wear.

New to valet? Call us and we will confirm your route and have a garment bag made up with your name on it.

Water, chosen over solvent.

Most of the industry still leans on PERC, a harsh solvent your clothes carry home with them. Glenforest went a different way decades ago, becoming Toronto's first wet cleaning specialist: pure water, controlled to the degree, matched to each fibre.

Done properly, wet cleaning is kinder than conventional dry cleaning in every way that matters. Wool keeps its softness, silk keeps its light, and colors stay true. Our Miele certified equipment and six decades of hands make sure of it.

Every garment is cleaned in water and detergent matched to its fibre; there is no PERC in the building.

  • Pressed and finished by hand
  • Safe for skin and delicate fibres
  • Miele certified, professionally controlled

Quiet praise, earned slowly.

“They have looked after my husband's shirts for years. Everything comes back exactly as it should, and the Tuesday pickup means I never have to think about it.”
Margaret Lawrence Park
“Brought in a silk dress with a stain I had given up on. It came back perfect, and with no chemical smell at all.”
Priya Bedford Park
“Reliable, kind, and clearly proud of the work. Friday pickup at our door has become one of my favourite routines.”

The Zachos family standard.

For over 60 years, the Zachos family has cleaned, pressed, and handed back this neighbourhood's wardrobes from the same corner at Yonge and Lawrence. We were Toronto's first wet cleaning specialist, and we still believe the proof of good work is in the garments themselves: they simply come back right, every time.

“May your worst problem be a stain on your clothes.”
